Another great group of hunters and a lot of really good finds. I found a number of Civil War and period relics which included Seven CW bullets. I found two nice Indian Head Pennies just 2 foot apart....1901 and 1907. One of my best finds was a period Powder Flask that I may try to get straightened. I also found part of a confederate spur....a super find. However my favorite finds were the rings with the "coin Silver" ring tops on my list. I found the brass wedding band first on day one. It was on a hill top that also yielded several bullets. The grass was very very high so this site needs a revisit once the grass is low. My favorite overall find is the Silver ring. It was on a site that we have hunted multiple times. This was our final afternoon of hunting. I walked onto the field and my second target registered a 12-26 on my Minelab. I dug a very big plug about 8" deep but the target was still in the hole. One more small scoop and out popped the ring. After examining it with fellow hunters we realized it was very old and hand made. After a little research I learned that silver coins from those days were melted down to make such jewelry.....A great find.
