December 6,7 and 8, 2013. Another fun History Hunt in Virginia. No team picture this time but we had another bunch of very good hunters. The seven hunters included 5 England veterans, LouisianaSal, MinnesotaMindy, CaliforniaGail, MarylandScott and FloridaRob. The other 2 very good hunters were from Pennsylvania, Will and Win. The first 2 days had very good weather but the final day was tough with cold and rain. I think everyone had a good time and Mindy won for best pouch which included a nice Barber Head Dime and a beautiful Indian Arror Head which was an eyeball find.
Please see my finds below.........
This is a very old broach or maybe a strap buckle of some kind. Very detailed design and made of brass.
Buckle back showing the strap loop.
Assorted buttons from the 1800's.
Clothing weight.
Harmonica Reeds.
Assorted early period musket balls and bullets.
Very old Horse shoe.
Old spoon with detailed design.
Very old door lock covers
The home behind me was an early 1800's built home. Maryland Scott found a hot spot here and recovered 5 Confederate Bullets, real beauties. Sal found a rare Virginia button.
This building was an old tobbaco drying cabin out in the woods. We hunted around it but so much trash in the ground made it difficult to locate good targets.
